Nesting locations can vary, but are mostly found outdoors, either below the soil, or in drains. The nests need to be treated to terminate the ants. Disturbing these trails or killing the ants in your home will not solve the problem.
Ant management is not a once-off treatment and should be maintained to ensure a successful outcome as there can be hundreds of thousands of ants.
SIGNS OF AN ANT INFESTATION:
- Ant trails in your home: Ants follow scent trails to and from a food source. If you see a line of ants moving in an organized fashion, it is a strong indicator of an infestation.
- Food contamination: Discovering ants in food packages or scattered food crumbs shows ants have been foraging for food in your home.
- Ant nests in your garden: Outside, you might see small piles of dirt or sand that indicate an ant nest. Inside, nests could be in walls, under flooring, or behind appliances.
