Quote Terms & Conditions
TERMS AND CONDITIONS – GENERAL INFROMATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH ACT 36 OF 1947
1. Validity of Quote
This quote is valid for a period of 30 days from the date of issue. Prices and availability of services are subject to change after this period.
2. Scope of Services
The services outlined in this quote are based on the information provided by the client. Any additional requirements, unforeseen conditions, or modifications may result in an updated quote. This may include, but is not limited to:
a. There are more pests present at the site than what was stated before the quote was created.
b. Incorrect information was provided causing a change in service requirements.
c. The cause of the infestation or the issue concerning the infestation is more severe than what the customer is aware of.
3. Acceptance of Quote
A service will only be scheduled and confirmed upon receipt of the client’s payment for the quotation, within the validity period. By accepting this quote, the client agrees to the terms and conditions outlined herein.
4. Payment Terms
Full payment will be required before the service is booked. As soon as payment is received, a date and time will be reserved for your service.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling
Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be communicated at least 24 hours in advance. Failure to do so may result in cancellation fees.
6. Liability
While every effort is made to deliver professional and effective pest control services, Steiner Pest at Home is not liable for any pre-existing conditions or consequential damages arising from the treatment.
7. Health and Safety Compliance
Clients must ensure that the premises are accessible and safe for our Pest Control Officers. Any health risks or hazards must be disclosed before service commencement. Certain measures may need to be taken prior or post service in order to maximise results and/or comply with health and safety. This is dependent on pest type and will be disclosed to you upon booking your service. Please take note of the following:
- All pets, wildlife, persons not involved with the application must be cleared away from area of treatment.
- Pest control measures (incl pesticides/chemicals) shall be administered in accordance with legislation/industry practice and/or standards/manufacturer prescripts, by registered pest control operators only, consequent to Bidvest Steiner conducting a survey of the site/premises and the Client’s approval of the pest control measure to be administered.
- Client must refrain from handling/interfering with/disturbing/disposing of any pest control measure.
- The client must acquaint itself with information regarding pest control measures, follow instructions/precautions and comply with safety measures and warnings provided by Bidvest Steiner, incl to observe any re-entry period consequent to fumigation.
- Only Bidvest Steiner to dispose of any waste concerning pest control measures (incl the packaging).
- The client must ensure information regarding Bidvest Steiner’s pest control services and measures are disseminated. Client must immediately inform Bidvest Steiner regarding any allergens prior to administration or negative consequences/side-effects consequent to administration.
- Note: In case of poisoning or contamination, apply first aid and seek immediate medical advice or attention. Material Safety Data Sheets/labels/information herein to be provided to emergency/medical personnel.
8. Force Majeure
Our company is not liable for delays or non-performance due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, such as extreme weather, natural disasters, or government regulations.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in South Africa.
The information provided herein is supplied in good faith and is not exhaustive. The intention is to brief the client of essential matters concerning environmental, health and safety issues relating to a recommended pest control measure. This document should b e read with the Bidvest Steiner’s quotation, and the latter does not accept liability unless due to its gross negligence/wilful default.
FUMIGATION
BIDVEST PROCESS
Bidvest Steiner will prepare the commodity for fumigation in a gas tight container or stack.
Sample lines will be inserted to measure the concentration of the gas within the fumigation area.
Post the fumigation period, the commodity will be aerated in line with the label requirements.
Bidvest steiner will advise on all items to be removed from the fumigation area.
A PRE-TREATMENT NOTICE WILL BE ISSUED TO THE CLIENT BY BIDVEST STEINER.
The notice shall contain all the relevant required information and shall be displayed at the site during the service.
The client must ensure all staff are notified and are not present during the treatment.
The client must provide a floor plan of the building to be treated.
A security guard should be deployed to the area to ensure no entry into fumigation container or stack.
GENERAL
• The client must: provide the most recent floor plan of the building to be treated; and arrange in advance with Bidvest Steiner if any individual is required to accompany the PCO during the treatment (i.e. to arrange for PPE, etc.).
• A registered termiticide as per SABS practice (SABS 10124 of 1995) is applied during the treatment. The termiticide label and safety data sheet will be made available.
• A 5-year guarantee is issued on a termite treatment provided: the entire building is treated where active infestation of termites is found (i.e. no guarantee for spot treatments).
TREATMENT METHODS
• Drill and Inject:
Holes are drilled 1 metre apart and treated with the required amount of termiticide.
Permission may be required to cut traps doors in order to treat suspended floors.
• Residual Spray Application:
A residual spray will be applied throughout the entire area, per square metre (m²) or per mound, or per nest, or per linear metre (around structures).
WEED CONTROL SERVICES
GENERAL
• Application is either pre-emergence of weeds (to prevent weeds from appearing above surface) or post-emergence (weeds have appeared above surface) and non-selective (i.e. eradicate plants with the weeds).
• A herbicide registered in terms of Act 36/1947 is applied during the treatment. The herbicide label and safety data sheet will be made available.
TREATMENT METHOD
• Residual Spray Application in outdoor areas, per square metre (m²) or per linear metre (around structures).
Excluded from weed control service: broadcast spray to control weeds pre-planting in arable agriculture or forestry
